Photography Assistant
Hi All,
I am a aspiring photographer. I am studying through the Photography Institute at the moment.
I live in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town.
I work a full day job to pay for my monthly expenses, but I would love to be working in the photography field rather than what I am doing now.
I would like to get as much experience as I can.
Some of my work is on Flickr, and my link is:
I am a very keen learner, and always willing to go the extra mile.
Please contact me, should you need anything more, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Re: Photography Assistant
You certainly have some wonderful photographs on your flickr account. Just be careful to upload exact the required image size to flickr or else they tend to appear soft.

Re: Photography Assistant
Hi Jade,
Welcome to ODP... I'd suggest sticking to the forum and posting in the galleries here as well. Photographers tend to take along assistants that they feel they know (even if only on a digital forum) as opposed to a totally random poster.
(you can also try some other locations as well, like our Shoots Stock Forum or FTM)

Re: Photography Assistant
Thank you.
I understand that photographers dont usually take on anyone, which is why it is so difficult to find someone to work with.
I am so keen to work with someone and get experience and learn from them, but I really dont know how?
Any advice always welcome

Re: Photography Assistant
Many photographer take assistants, but they will rather take somebody they know. We try and have an extra assistant like this on every shoot we have space. Guys like Simon organises access with him on many occasions as well.

Re: Photography Assistant
So who here in Gauteng would need an assistant say for a wedding or a model shoot?
For free of course.
Anything to hone the skills.

you can use the software that came with the camera, but generally you would just need to update your ACR plugin for photoshop - most probably you have an alder version of the plugin that doesn't have the technical specs of the new camera's sensor, so it doesn't know what to do with it.
Which version of photoshop do you have?

Not for weddings, but if you keep an eye on my shoots over on FTM, then you can perhaps join me on one or two
