    Downloaded it yesterday.

    It's a completely new piece of software, not an upgrade of version 7. Works completely differently. Apple made a clean break and reworked the whole system and way of putting things together.

    Does seem to be pretty fast though, faster than previous version, for sure. It's running 64bit + gpu and background rendering with unused cycles. One feature that is friggin awesome... import multicam and sound and it will automagically match up on the timeline according to the soundwave signatures (or, if the multicams do not have own sound, then timecode)

    I already like it, but I think more serious editors will end up floating away to avid or premiere.

    ok... played a bit, and it's waaaay faster than FCP! I rendered a 4and half hour video in just over 4 hours (in FCP it took me three days!)
