Re: PHOTO & FILM EXPO 2011 (13th - 16th Oct @ Coca-Cola Dome)
I still want SLRs to come out with a shocking mechanism in the handles that shocks you as you push down the release, tensing all your muscles and ensuring an ultra steady shot.. And instead of a battery grip a screw on hip flask grip would also be popular I think..

Seems it is just the Nikon stage we are waiting for. Also want to plan the days. I am a bit put out that I will miss the small flashes workshop on Friday. Is there a repeat somewhere Sean?

Yep, most workshops are loaded. In addition to the 'flashes' workshop by Sean there is a dedicated 'strobist' (used in inverted commas specifically) demo area with 4 practical demonstrations per day, focusing on varied lighting techniques using strobes and portable 'gadgets'..
The area is run by CODP and Camerastuff so it should be really informative.
We're hoping to have that workshop schedule as well as the Nikon and EPS workshop schedules loaded very soon, and they will also be included in the next issue of PiX.
The other 3 workshop areas are already loaded on the website - see www.photofilmexpo.com and check right hand side of home page for download links.

because of limited seating at the canon roadshow, numbers had to be limited. i thoroughly enjoyed the canon roadshow and am going to the canon expo instead of this one because a) i drive canon and b) huge crowds are a problem for me.

Did you also wet the bed :-)
I've booked for Friday so I can go with my daughter (who has the day off from varsity) and because I too do not enjoy the crowds.

The shows cater to completely different markets. The PHOTO & FILM EXPO caters to photographers and the photographic industry in general (with well over 200 photographic brands represented) while the Canon show caters to Canon users. I have no doubt that both will be great shows, and both should be attended.

PS, don't forget the massive specials at the event! I've just seen the specials booklets being distributed and some of those prices are ridiculous...
Remember with the Rand / Dollar exchange hikes the new pricing from a lot of suppliers will hike by 15 - 30% in November as well so the expo is just the time to capitalize on the current deals.
