Love the new look -

Only thing i find really distracting are the 'flashing' ads on the right hand side.
Getting round it by moving the ODP window across my screen so they are shifted off the screen so i can read the posts without the flashing of lenses or camera in my 'peripheral' vision.

When browsing the galleries I used to click a date on the calendar displayed in the bottom corner of the main gallery page. This used to bring up all the posts for the day.

The format it came up as was pretty much the same as if you selected a particular gallery. There was a Display Option at the bottom of the page so you could set it up to suit you.

I see it has now changed and you can only see a max of 75 images posted for the day (at 20 per page). It really serves no purpose when you sometimes have in excess of 200 posts for the day. There is also no Display options at all.

I found the previous format very useful as I could go through all the images posted for the day from one page and did not have to go from gallery to gallery.

Is there any chance of getting this back?

Yep, we were quite upset that the "upgrade" seemed to have downgraded functionality... Anyhoo... it's on the list to be improved

Robynf lets add the flashing log's on post too find them a pain too flash is so old school,and like HDR is never done correctly(ok so a very very few do it correctly)

I can see the post headers now, no problem with that. The ODP logo still hides some of the bottons on top left menu bar, especially in the galleries.

Not sure if it has been mentioned, the classifieds, used to be that the little arrow to the right would turn to yellow if new ads had been posted since your last visit, but I see that it doesn't change now, always greyed out, new ads or not

Simon, are you running an ad blocker somewhere? that might cause the header not to load

Been some time since the "new look" site has been up and running and I still don't see any improvement on any of the issues listed by users. What's up! Has your technical team thrown their hands up in the air and walked away. Most frustrating and time consumeing to use this site. Will venture elsewhere for a while till this is all sorted. Hopefully soon. Good luck.

We have fixed 77 major issues, and have 29 pending as of 5pm today... As a free user of the site, I can understand that you would like the technical team to work through the weekends and nights to conform the site to your requirements, but it's very difficult to do if you do not at least give us an idea about what it is that bothers you.

Elaborate a bit, and maybe we can push it to the front of the queue?

As for the time spent on the site... Well, the site is faster, more people are visiting and registering, more people are posting images and viewing images, and generally spending more time... All the stats are up. Even the compliments we receive on the new site outweighs the complaints.

If ODP is really a pain to use, please search the forum, Luc has posted a selection of other forums dealing with photography that might help while we complete the upgrades and bugfixes

A lot of us made negative comments, and myself felt the forum part went from 100 to 0 in one second, because of all the bugs. I found a few in the first few minutes. ODP should have waited and fixed the errors before upgrading the site.

Anyway, its done now, old news.

My stand is fix all the bugs, then start looking at enhancements.
By the looks it is going well. And that’s great news. Nobody expects this to happen overnight. For me ODPspy was my friend that DIED in the process. Will give it a try again later today.

I am still happy with the extra dark sun glasses. A bonus because now all the ladies on the beach look the same. He He. But seeing that its not needed anymore, the new BG is much easier on the eyes.

The people that want to walk away, take a break and come and visit me in Toti. Plenty of beach/ocean for all. Dont forget your sunglasses and camera.

There are some nice new features, and some that work backword for myself.

Sean just to make sure.
1.No home button when on the forums.
2.When I paste from here to MSWord, font to small. {Tahoma 4} This might be a BG{Bill G} issue.
3. Paste back more errors. The new lines get .... up
4. While editing this post, my tabs/indent got lost {numbers 1-5}.
5. When I saw "Hannes you won a D3x" on the ads, was that really for me. I tried to write down the ref number ma nee jong. Damn, gone again, the ads so fast. Maybe it was for you.
6. The OLD site, GPS exif info wrong.
1-6 All low priority

OK, its weekend, take a break.

Time will tell.

Sean I appreciate your feedback. Just keep in mind that 90% of your users are free users! I have already elaborated on a previous post and I am fully aware that everyone's issues experienced is of equal importance, I don't expect my issues to be pushed to the front of the queue.The problem is that many users are experiencing the same issues and we are all listing them individually which probably makes the issues look a lot more than in reality. If I may make a suggestion, perhaps you could provide a list of all the issues raised and logged and then indicate against each one which have been resolved and which are still pending. This will give us a good indication of what's fixed and we could test it from our side. It will also give us an indication on how you are progressing. Furthermore it will help us in not reporting an issue that is already known, logged and being attended to. Other than that I will not desert ODP, it's played a vital role in taking my hobby to the next level and I will continue to support you. Yes I will be visiting other sites in the interim, but I will be back. In fact with all the frustrations experienced I still find myself coming back all the time. Once ODP is in your veins there's no turning back. I know you guys are putting in a huge effort and my intention was never to suggest otherwise. This can not be an easy task and I wish you all the luck.

Nope... No idea... Seems to work fine... What browser are you on? Does it give any other error messages or the like, or does it completely load the page, except it's just blank?

Images in the Galleries are arranged from latest to earliest post (top left is newest image on the page). When clicking the 1-day view, the order is reversed and images are arranged from earliest to latest with the most recent image shown at bottom right of the page. This is a tad confusing.

hey Sean................. all looks great. Last few days noticed site extremely slow.......today find that my screen shows about 1/2 page and must use scroll bars...........

dunno if its my antimagnetic personality or a bug!
