Circle of dots in tab keep turning.
Loadbar bottom right stays empty.
Following statement in statusbar "Transferrings data from mystatus.skype.com" Never had Skype on this PC.

EDIT: After doing this post and returning to the tread this tab now show "Done" in the statusbar and the circle of dots is gone. The other tabs with ODP threads are still loading ghosts.

Nope, It's just that we do not seem to have found a solution yet.

It's intermittent... we have changed settings on the server, we have tried updating the google code, we have completely switched off the ODP Ad Server, we have tried to see if there is some kind of caching going on through certain ISPs, but unfortunately we can't seem to get a pattern going to resolve...

This morning we got the error on versions of Firefox from 3.6 to 5.0.1 as well as Chrome, then, all of a sudden everything worked fine. and we couldn't get it to make the error again. This afternoon the one Mac at the ODP shop gave us the error again on Firefox 3.6... but inbetween we haven't changed anything and neither did the servers.

Right now it seems the culprit is the Google servers or the connection to the google servers, but we can't be sure

Sean - Elsa never lost her spy. But her spy doesnt load automatically as it should - now THATS intermittent. I have to refresh quite often - but its been like that since Noah built the Ark.

Confused... sorry I was referring to post 445:

Right now Google Ads are not loading in FF or Chrome or Safari on my side, although it loaded most of the evening while I have been busy with the POTY Results.

One of the Developers also think the problem we have with some people's smilies that have disappeared is connected with this in some way (mall fomed java calls or somesuch)

sorry yes I do recall now.
it does sometimes happen - but on all ODP pages - when I hit it again then it loads. Maybe a reset in the server?
but what I am still experiencing is the fact that it keeps loading and loading and loading...........
And the fact that I have to hit refresh for Spy to update.

I think it's my current state of being... or the flu meds...

For the life of me I can't think why you would get a "File not Found" error from the server unless you are loading an expired cache copy of the site from your service provider or local proxy, which really shouldn't be happening as the site is dynamic, not static pages. It would explain why the ODPspy stops loading after a while, but again... it's not really something that I would expect to be the problem.

When the ODPspy was brought back in the new version, we loaded the pages on the ODPshop demo Macs and they would run the whole day, constantly updating without a bother...

Can't we please go back to just sending off a photocopy newsletter every week!?

No, no... I don't think it's anything specific on your side... we used to get problems like that in the old dial-up days, where the ISP's ran local caches of internationally hosted sites to speed up transfers... but it's not a common thing now.

Will ask the techies about this in the morning...
