    Default Basic Video Questions

I have a 5D markii, a pc (as apposed to a Mac), Photoshop CS5 extended, Photoshop Premier Elements, MPEG streamclip and AVID Codecs.

I would like to make simple movies from my 5D footage, but the footage seems to crash my computer everytime I try. I've tried converting the footage with MPEG streamclip, but I'm not sure what settings to use, for example:
    • Should de-interlaced be checked?
    • What quality should the footage be rendered to?
    • What size should it be rendered to?
Most of my footage is of landscapes and I would like to put an HD video on Vimeo, but I'm sure I don't need the size of the native files.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi John!

    Sorry I missed this!

    Quick answers:

    1. Don't de-interlace... the 5D shoots progressive (1080p)

    2. really depends on what you want in the final I render to 95 quality for my stock footage (HUGE FILES) but only about 50% on the stuff that goes to web

    3. again... depends on what you want your end result to be used for

Remember the native files are not RAW files. the are quite heavily compressed h.264 files already...
