Nikon D700 settings - help please!
I have just upgraded from DX to FX in the form of a Nikon D700.
Can someone please supply me with a spreadsheet showing the settings. I have such a spreadsheet for my D300 so I believe it must exist for the D700. (I think this was based on information from the Nikonians.com site)
I must also congratulate ODP for the fantastic service rendered in the form of the "classifieds". I have found the buyers and sellers very trustworthy, unlike some other services on our internet.

Oh those links for the set-ups are fantastic - see most of the more recent Nikon models are covered.

I have also now started reading "David Buschs' Nikon D700 guide to digital photography" and it's like a light being switched on. All 504 pages are written in a way that even I as a noob can understand. Hopefully my camera's shutter will last till the end of the book.

Since different authors have different opinions (sometimes opposites) on how one should switch certain settings, it is perhaps good to get more than two opinions. I recommend making your own personal spreadsheet with a column for Nikonians advice, one for Thom Hogan's manual (highly recommended), etc (I also had one for my notes from a workshop by Nikon SA I attended), and then a last column for my own decision.
Many of these settings are situation dependent, and depend on what you photograph, and on personal preferences as well, so it's important to learn and understand them, and know what to set them like in the field. I found I changed my last, personal column a few times, eventually got settled into what I'm comfortable with, and mostly remain there with changes in the field for specific situations.

What settings do you want??? Anything/permutation is possible with that camera...experiment and use your own signature is the way to go...there are no standard settings IMO
