Liesl is the petition not a little too late?

I heard via the grape vine of a family of Elephant available for free (apart for transportation costs) due to an area soon to be mined.

    Hi Roberto,

The petition is ongoing whilst all the legal actions are being undertaken so not too late. The mining has been stopped for now and they want it to stay that way so they need all the support they can get. Haven't heard anything about the elephants?? That would be very sad!!!

    Signed!!!

The Elephant in question from what I know was an urgent relocation hence me asking if it were not too late.

Apparently one cannot separate a family of Elephant (so I'm being told) and if the owners are not able find a new home the entire family will unfortunately have to be culled which is very sad!

Many reserves from what I have heard have already turned them down as they do require plenty land.

I am forever an optimist and have faith in the Department of Environmental Affairs who are passionate about this particular issue (from first hand knowledge).

Roberto, that is correct about elephants and the market is currently flooded so there is not place for them to go because they just need too much space!

I think all we can do is remain positive!
