Hugin - Creating 360° enfused panoramas

Hi Guys / Gals ...

Whilst researching on what program to use, in order for me to stitch a few images together to give me a nice Panoramic shot... i stumbled upon this.

And i have actually seen a few of these pics before, and always wondered how they did it !

Now i tried it myself, and did not get very far, due to me not understanding it very much, or not having the right programs / equipment.

I Presume a decent wide angle lens will be needed :
