Grootvaly bird sanctuary

Hello All,

Does anyone have any experience of this sanctuary. Really keen to give it a try Monday morning but want a little heads up please.

Is that the one next to Bakerton in Springs ?
I went there a few times. Did get great shots at the first hide. Never went the other hides too far out in the field and no maintenance is been done on them. I am just worry about the safety there

Hi Lucas,

thats the one..... Safety seems to be a concern at a lot of these places. Will take a walk around any event with my 9mm strapped to waist.

Zipped out to Grootvaly this morning. I felt no discomfort whatsoever with regard security and the top hide is smashing, the bottom hide is a mess and completely overgrown.

Will definitely go back.

No, 300mm a bit short, need a big gun for this hide, although, they have put up some perches close to the hides so you could get lucky.

I never felt any threat when I was there. The top hide is very nice, the bottom one is rubbish.
