    Default ViewNX problem

My copy of ViewNX has suddenly started to misbehave. Whenever I start it up, the message below appears. Any ideas?

I am running version 1.5.0 on Vista.

Sounds like its trying to connect to server, which would be the picturetown server (Not available to SA) .disable picturetown.

or you have set up your Nikon message centre to look for updates automatically (date or time specific) and you're not connected to the internet?

Have already done so, thanks. My ADSL is connected. I have also made sure that my firewall is letting ViewNX through.

presume you are still experiencing the problem?

WHEN YOU INSTALLED IT, DID YOU TURN YOUR ANTIVIRUS AND FIREWALL PROGRAMS OFF? If not, it can create all sorts or registry mishmashes.
If you didnt, try the following
    1. Uninstal ViewNX via add/remove programs
    2. Restore your computer to a time before your initial instalation
    3. Turn off all open programs, disconnect from the web, disable your antivirus, and reinstal ViewNX.

I have just removed NX2 and ViewNX, ran CCleaner on the registry and rebooted. I then reinstalled the whole lot. It now seems OK.

    Thanks for the help.
