    Matt, not all photographic competitions have cash prizes, many have equipment, sponsored goodies, holidays etc, so cash is not always up for grabs.

    Having said that, the bigger the incentive (prize) the stiffer the competition is going to be and there are MANY top class award winning photographers out there entering these competitions and in many instances it actually costs you as the entrant (printing, posting, having the right equipment etc)

    Good luck in any event, if you aren't innit, you can't winnit
