I have adopted this technique of exposing to the right and it works wonders!!!

I recent shot I took of a Pied Kingfisher http://www.outdoorphoto.co.za/forum/...00&ppuser=6094
was taken at ISO 1600 and bringing down the exposure during PP of the image dropped the noise levels considerably. The image would never have worked if I had underexposed in camera even slightly. The image did appear much lighter IN CAMERA than the final PROCESSED image and thats what you want from your Raw file.
A lighter toned image than intended but not overexposed to clip highlights.

Would be interested if a feature like Highlight Tone Priority on my Canon 40D would be useful when exposing to the right for reduced noise at high ISO. It definately prevents as much clipping taking place, but is the increased noise in shadow area's worth the trade off?
