Here's an older shot that I wanted to share with you. The first time I photographed kingfishers the light was really low and snow was in the air. Luckely I was able to get some sharp shots when the snow finally came down.

Beautiful shot. The rain adds something for me, as one never really gets to see a shot like this. Well done

Hmmm, so did your KF's not evolve to have fur lined feet etc for such cold weather, man it must be cold to duck into those waters for a meal, whiles it is snowing!

Well done here Jasper, I like the general comp, exposure and pin sharp subject.

Very well done, I like this image lots, nice perch and comp and the falling snow does it for me and no motion blur from shivering MK or photographer

This is such an unusual shot. A KF in snow. A great image, with great colours and nice and sharp. Thanks for sharing.

About as good as it gets Japper (you can keep the snow though... thats why I moved to SA 7 years ago.... to leave all that behind ) Love the colours of these KF's and you have captured them perfectly together with the lichen. The posture, perch and comp couldnt be better imo, john

Tremendous image. To get such vibrant colours on a snowy day is wonderful and the sense of movement in the BG makes this extra special.

Japper, you have once again produced a winner. This is stunning. It would be great if you left the EXIF data on the image. RR
