I really like the Mac but want to make sure that the MacBook Pro 13 can run Photoshop and process RAW files (25 MB size) without any issues before I buy it.

The Mac screen looks better than even expensive rivals like top end Sony and HP machines. Is this just my imagination or is it really better ?

Hi, I was just wondering what the possibility is for using a LCD TV for a monitor for editing? I know it is a bit big, but at a distance is kinda nice. Anyone using it?

I like the MacBook Pro but then would need to buy new software for Mac (e.g. Photoshop Elements) and some programs like Breezebrowser are not available for the Mac. The Mac also seems expensive for the features offered !?

The quality of the screen is very important to me. I am looking at a size from 13 to 15 inch for portability.

Any advice will be welcome !

I have recently replaced the harddrive of my MacBook Pro with the new Seagate Momentus XT (500GB) - a hybdrid SSD drive. This is in essence a normal 7,200 rpm drive, but with an added 4GB SLC NAND flash memory.

The intelligent drive controller drivers/software learns your use patterns and then stores those programs/files in the 4GB flash memory. It hence speeds up the system performance quite a bit.

Have a look at the following website: http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/pro...ops/laptop-hdd

The local price of this drive is around R1,300 for the 500GB. A good solution if you may already be reaching the limit of your drive's capacity.

HI folks.
Anyone come across this. I can't seem to find anything on Google about it.

Running Vista 64.
After I watch a DVD, stream or clip, when the pc has been inactive for about 1 minute my machine goes into into "locked" mode (like, but not active screen saver) i.e. I have put in screensaver password to work on pc again. I then have to go into screensaver, manually select "None" "Apply" and then it stays unlocked until I again watch a clip or something. And then a minute after no activity, same thing.
This is hugely frustrating. I have checked my power settings etc as well & all are set to not save any power at any time.

This happens whether I'm using Firefox, IE, or any DVD viewer. As soon as I play any vidoe or any sort, the machine locks after about a minute of inactivity.

Any ideas?

This is wht we have done:
1) Calibrtaed monitor
2) Downloaded the lastest paper profiles from Canon

Checked, double checked all settings as read on many forums on the net.
Check settings in terms of Scott Kelby's book

Problem - mainly with skin tones.
I recently had prints done at the lab and they match my monitor 100%. I then printed the same image on hos printer. The print has a yellow cast on the skin, but the whites are whiter .

Any suggestions? I am now loosing the little hair that I have :o:D

I noticed it a while ago on my friend's new Dell laptop, and now on my wife's new Lenovo as well. It's rather annoying, when you try and close a program you can't just press Alt+F4, but rather FN+Alt+F4 - which doesn't always work that well either.

anyhow, I'm just curious as to why they did this......
