Worst lens you have ever used?

What is the worst lens you have ever used and why?

I would rate a Sigma 28-105 f3.5-5.6 as the softest lens I had the displeasure of using.

This threat can become very dangerous... I like it !!!

Worst ever: Sigma 70-300 (The macro isn't bad, but the zoom sucks).

All of us will have some lens that didnt cut it.... except PeterB's nikkor's of course

500 mm Makinon mirror lens. Reasonable on film camera - Canon Ftb. USELESS on digital camera.

Without a second's hesitation - the Canon Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III (Not USM and not IS and NOT SHARP AT ALL!!!)

My matress isn't as soft. It had abberation when you just looked at it. It focussed sloooooowly and it taught me a thing or three about what a good lens should be.

A Soligor 70-210 (f6.3???)..It went on a Yashica Manual camera...seriously challenging photography with soft results...lens just fell apart...my Minolta APO 70-210 was a peach...very nice..Marcell there must have been a baddish Nikkor somewhere...loved the 180 2.8 ED MF.....Maybe the 400 f5.6 ED-IF was not so good...dark so struggled to see the focus as it was MF in those days. Loved the 600f5.6 MF until I dropped it at Nossob attached to a F3...Went out of alignment!!!

The worse worse lens ive ever used was a horrible sigma 18-50mm lens. Canons kit lens is way better.

Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 USMIII
First had something in the lens - sent to cameratek.
Now it is a soft lens. I never use it. Even my one friend (a photographer) told me my copy was soft. But it will have to do for now till I can afford the red ring glass....

Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III. At least I managed to sell it without getting any complaints afterwards.

The Sigma 28-105 f3.5-5.6 and the Sigma 28-135 f2.8-4.5, old lens long since discontinued before the digital era even arrived and replaced by the much better 24-135 f2.8-4.5, which I really liked.

Tamron 70-300 (Nikon mount). Like most of the older 70-300 lenses. In fact, I believe that the old Nikon 70-300 was also made by Tamron.

I hated the plastic 35-80mm pentax kit lens that came with my MZ50. and then I hated the Sigma 70-300APO macro that I bought for the same camera.

The Sigma was OK for close-up/"macro" but never got a really sharp result from it at any other distance, ever.

All my Nikon lenses have much better sharpness, contrast and colour saturation.
